Poverty levels continue to increase in Fond du Lac County and across the nation. Low wages, and rising costs of housing, food, gas, utility bills, clothing and other basic needs affect families who are struggling to make ends meet.
Fondy Food Pantry offers food assistance to residents of Fond du Lac County. Our volunteers are working to alleviate hunger by reaching out to those in need.
Through collaboration with local services agencies, community organizations, businesses and area congregations, our food pantry is a vital resource for those who find themselves experiencing temporary financial problems.
*Totals do not include the school children that we serve through other outreach programs.
A big Thank You to the Charity Club for their donation of $7,000 ($3,500 per semester) for the shelf-stable milk for our Food for Thought program. They have been providing funding for many years and we couldn't do this without them. Pictured are Kim Chatterton from the Charity Club on the left and Mallory Gilbertson, Vice President of Fondy Food Pantry and Coordinator of the Food for Thought program.
Emily Waisanen and her daughters Lucy and Hattie saw our post about needing food and they decided they could do something to help. They put notices on the doors in their neighborhood asking them to donate food or money to help Fondy Food Pantry. Emily and the girls picked up the food from their neighbors and brought in 15 bags of food along with $60 they collected. We also know there were PayPal donations made in response to Emily's actions. Great job Emily, Lucy, Hattie and the Crowfoot Avenue neighborhood in Fond du Lac! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
